Thank you to CCP for conducting a swift investigation and setting the record straight, ending the theorycrafting.
Now that the account was unbanned, let's hear what you got :)

And another question, is the loot trapped in the stations, or did he manage to get any of it out?

The account is banned in case it is hacked, to make sure the person hacking it doesn't cause any further damage.
It's amazing CCP acts so quickly with information under the threat of Goon spamming and abuse. Nice work showing how easy blackmail is. You don't see so many dev posts, if any at all, with other cases.
You're still a stupid****got.

Quote: Edited by: Relaria Hossin on 18/07/2007 16:22:47 Yes I foresee a few thousand upset players voicing their concern on these forums if he was banned for this perfectly legal corp theft.
We all know what that means when goons show their ugly head. And try to behave, you sound like a little kid that has learned a new swear word.
I expect Relaria was speaking on behalf of the general eve community, he's not an official GS spokesperson.

A week? This seems like a loss for sure, a costly breach of trust for sure.... Hardly a killing blow though. Trillions in T2 BPO's, all still intact, their production capability is intact. Only way this could possibly be an issue for them is if it was immediately followed by a massive incursion into their space to take advantage of their gimped logistics.... as it is.... i don't get the impression that RA / Goons etc. are in a position to do this now are they.
A communist corp losing pretty much everything they had? Yea, obviously not a massive blow.

i think that anyone laughing at bob may well regret doing so as from personal experience i know that bob corps have tenacious spirits and will not rest until their enemies are destroyed.
BOB have been doing nasty cloak and dagger stuff for years, they had this comming.

But what i really like is the information Politic of CCP in this case. In time and a clear short statement what they have done and why. Perhaps these tinfoil threads / actions from Goons had really done a positive improvement in this direction?
Think you might be right. This issue was handled wonderfully, and again proved that CCP are working hard at this game. Good stuff.

It was dealt with properly.
I have seen similar instances during my gaming time within EVE where CCP acted in exactly the same manner regarding instances FAR SMALLER in scale.
If I petitioned CCP that I felt my (or anyone elses account had been hacked), odds are better then good that account would be immediately banned pending an investigation.
That they chose to communicate their actions swiftly is a good thing and merely the product of what has gone on in this game dating back to the T20 scandal. CCP employees and the player community are all to blame for the current atmosphere.
Personally, I applaud CCP for doing their best to do the right thing.
Your mileage may vary, of course.
I'm not really arguing that they didn't do the right thing. At the moment they only showed they will do the right thing when you spam, abuse and threaten CCP in general. I do not think it's behaviour that should be encouraged, which is what they are doing.
The investigation was started before anyone said anything you fool.

I'm not just pointing at the thread we talked about earlier, but the reaction of ccp on events as a whole. If you keep being a immature brat that only knows how to throw petty insults around, this will be the last time i will respond to you.

*snicker snicker* seriously... I've seen us lose more then this in a single fleet battle, in which I died of 'course dictors being primary :(. I have also seen enemies (specifically the northern allied fleet in F-T *cough*). The BPO set (inless researched) is nothing more then a small annoyance, and I'm assuming its a T1 bpo set. AND last but not least to say... Someone commented on EVOL being a communist corporation, which it is. I would like to point out the following facts. EVOL has 449 members (as of post). Say half are alts, thats still around 224 members. Market cost of what was stolen as per that list 100b (and I'm being generous). Someone tell me about how much ISK then each person needs to make to recoup that loss?
Yea, thats right, they would make nearly double that if they sent half their members to the belts to kill 1 battleship spawn...
Mmm math, gotta love it.
P.S. I think corp thievery is underhanded, peroid. Use of spy's is fine (off-lining POSs, aggro'ing titans, ect) but straight out stealing is bad!
You didn't want those hangars anyway.

Evolution is not about what we have in our hangars. Most of you won't understand that either, and goons being what they are (ie predictable) will of course make fun of it, but it's the truth.
How exactly do you replace something with reserves and not come out with a net loss? If you lost everything, and used your reservesn now you don't have the reserves anymore. I really doubt you have what he stole in reserve, I doubt even 51%, which is what much means, and if you did, you'd be the biggest morons in the game for having ~150b in assets just collecting dust in your hangers instead of investing it.
But really, I don't think anyone expected you to come on here and start crying about how doomed you are. Keep talking tough, I'm sure someone's going to believe the talking points you keep posting. Whatever you have to see the membership grinding away.
I really dislike BOB but you post shows how ignorant you are. EVOL is not a 20 man corp made 3 months ago. They are a communist corp that has a crapload of pos's, builds dreads for their members and t1/t2 ships. When he said "we replaced from reserves" it means just that. To think that such a corp in such an alliance does not have back-up dreads in case they lose another 10-15 - they really can't afford to wait 2 weeks to build them as soon as they finished losing them, or already fitted sniper bs's in hangars or fuel for pos's for the next 1 month in the hangars is just stupid. Honestly the biggest damage to them as i see it are the pos fuel - or better said the lack off, which can lead to pos's going offline followed by the lack of dreads in case they lose another 15, but i think they probably solved those issues or ar close to solving them. Everything he took was meant to be used and lost - besides the t1 bpo's. You honestly expect a corp of EVOL's age and history of communist model to be finished when losing 100-200b isk ? I wouldn't be surprised if they bought back some of the stolen stuff from the thief. Much easier for both parties.
While I am happy that something like this happened to EVOL, I am certain that they have already partially recovered and in 1-2 months they will fully recover, while still giving their members ships, mods, fuel, everything they need to fight untill then.
There is nothing better than pubbies trying to teach us how BOB works.

While we of course see the benefits of seeing one of our enemies crippled, after coming so soon after our own Titan fund theft by Remedial, we see this as just another lame act by a lame player. It's sad. I hope you you all rebuild, and come back stronger, and continue to be a worthy foe.
This theft is just sad. I hope the thief truly feels ashamed.
This is the best, most mature Goon post I have ever read. If even 25 percent of the goons were like this guy I might start swinging the otherway :)

Thats the thing, though. The corporation on the receiving end of this was not attacked by some sort of an outside agent. Since the culprit was a long-time trusted member, the principles evol - and to some degree - band of brothers had been founded in mind with - brotherhood and kinship, the tight knit nature of evol have all been irreparably compromised through flatliner's actions, whatever the reasons behind them may have been. The financial losses from it are trivial compared to the whole way evol operates that this has put into question. Unlike game-currency which is easily replentished in evol's able caufers, the trust and peace of mind of its members is not.
this is why what has occured is more damaging than if it were caused by some malicious external saboteur.
Well said.
I would also like to add that I do consider "evol" to be "evil" as a corporation in Eve.So indeed this may be well deserved karma and I will not argue that.
Don't forget shrike was in a titan the next day after his 1st titan loss.I don't think many people here have seen what we can do to veldspar We took the biggest hit in probably Eve's history, I don't see a beter corp in this game to rise up and overcome it.
If you don't like us, well, too bad, we aren't finished yet
Don't forget that titan was taken from another BOB member and you're one short!

Can't argue with you there bud.
You Fecking Moron.
You can't post an argument to my comment so you misquote me....how clever of you. That would be called liable, and you are not clever doing that.
For your information, BoB are -10 Kill on sight to my corporation. My killboard will show the destruction of one of their T2 fit Myrmidons last week and I'll fire on them at every opportunity. I rarely have contact with BoB members though living in CVA space. I don't have a strong opinion about them. They seems to have their plonkers (- DBP? Why sign your name on every post?!?), but also a good proportion of mature posters, especially in the ideas section and the other areas I mostly read. So I'm "Up Sir Molle's ass?" - NO, you little muppet. Get your facts straight.
For more info, I also used to have an alt 'Susan Nestor' of one of the directors of LTWAX (so he/she said) in my corp when I first got going, he seemed like a decent chap, and even got my corp set blue to LTWAX when they were living out in Syndicate. I liked Goonswarm back then but knew little about who they were to be honest. My first corp recruitment post I mentioned I was proud to have an experianced player with close links to LTWAX in my corp, which then got a chiding derogatory comment from a key BoB member 'Blacklight'...I was perplexed by this at the time, but now I see what he was on about.
My view has been changing though over the year and a half since 'Susan Nestor' left us. It became clear to her we wouldn't merge into LTWAX as he/she desired (As was the real agenda). I have read and been impressed about Goonswarm's growth as a PVP entity, but also started reading more and more immature little prycks like you posting "How L33T they were" and "BoB suxx!!1Oneone".
The posts about 'the great war' mostly got me to the point of ignoring it and all forum posts about it. Then there was the "Threadnaught" recently - a completely immature way to raise concerns wasting CCP's time and tarnishing their image. I also heard about posts mocking the real life death of a BoB member...And now there's you.
You're now a shining example of what I now see as the average Goonswarm member. Congratulations - You're really spending your time well on these forums displaying to everyone what to expect from your Alliance. If a senior member of Goonswarm wants to apologise for you then I'll gladly accept it which would redeem the leadership in my eyes, but I've got to say I'm disappointed to have had to write all this for a little twerp like you so you can fully understand just why you are a moron.
*sigh* - /me takes a break from the forums....
Calm down.
